Chocolate Orange Biscotti

I had just made the Orange Biscotti and my friend had asked me to bake the chocolate version                   of the Orange Biscotti.
Okay.

These had a slight-orange taste.
And these make a small batch.
AND these have no butter or oil.
And you know, what that means.
Low-calorie.

I think the best part was mixing everything in one-bowl by Hand!
Like the olden days.

The original recipe is from Munaty Cooking

Chocolate Orange Biscotti

1 large egg
1 egg white (from a large egg)
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp freshly-grated orange zest
pinch salt
7 Tbsp firmly-packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted

*Preheat oven to 350F.
Line baking sheet/pan with either a Sil-Pat mat or parchment paper.
*Using a fork, beat the egg, egg white, vanilla, zest and salt together; in a medium-bowl.
*Add the sugar and mix.
*Add the cocoa and flour.
*Mix until everything is all combined.

*Dough will be sticky.
(I wet my hands slightly with water before forming the dough into logs).
(Wet the work surface slightly with water as well, to help roll out the dough).

*Divide dough into half and form into logs.
*Place logs onto the prepared baking sheet/pan.
*Bake for approx. 15-minutes or until the center is set.
(Dough will spread).

*Please let logs Cool Before cutting.

*Using a serrated knife, cut the logs diagonally and place onto the prepared baking sheet/pan.
(Place biscotti on its side).
*Bake for approx. 6-minutes.
*Remove from oven.
*Turn biscotti onto its other side and bake for additional 3-minutes.
*Remove from oven and let cool onto a wire-rack.

Enjoy!
:)
